Canadian wunderkind James Deen comes correct in his return to Cosmonostro, with a 3-track mini-EP packing a hefty punch with a nod to the futuristic blunted sounds that you’ve come to expect from the Cosmo roster.
Honey eases us in gently with a reverb-soaked wave of arps and lo-fi niceness, before dropping into a rolling four four swell of low end, orbited by immaculately placed stabs and skittering hi-hats. Title track Cashmere hypnotically loops a soul-soaked vocal hook over glistening arps and more servings of throbbing low frequency goodness, before Come Around descends into a cavernous trap-infused anthem for the space age, closing things off with saturated synths fighting for territory over a thunderous beat.
