My Nina deliver their debut full-length for Cosmonostro with a unique & captivating sound that refuses to be pigeon-holed.
Sounding like a lost transmission from a future dystopia, a lone cyborg croons over saturated synths and off-kilter beats, lamenting an aching desire for love, fame & personal development. ‘Trapped’ expresses the desire to break free from the ‘concrete maze’ we’ve built around ourselves, whilst in ‘For No Reason’, our robotic protagonist tells us of his longing for fame at any cost regardless of why – something that is increasingly evident in today’s celebrity obsessed media culture.
My Nina is a time-travelling journey of a record, transporting the listener to a distant future with present day values, told by a robotic entity capable of experiencing distinctly human emotions.
